Nowadays, most people spend most of their time in a day in front of their desk. Staying in the same position for hours with lack of movement or stretches without a doubt can cause muscle spasm and one of the most common area affected due to this condition is the neck.
If there is an expression “pain in the arse”, seems like now we need a new expression which is “pain in the neck”, but it is literally what it means. Pain in the neck cause both physical and psychological problems since it could affect your daily activities and performance. Fortunately, there is a simple trick you can do to quickly eliminate stiff neck and all you need is your hands and 90 seconds.
Before you start the stretches, let’s first see what the real cause of stiff neck is. The pain in the neck actually cause by the shortening of the muscle. When you stay in the same position for hours, this condition can occurs quite easy. Most people might not be aware that what they do in their daily cause the muscles to be contorted. The shortened neck muscle makes the nerve aggravated and every movement of your neck can be painful.
To deal with this problem, you need to elongate your muscles and stretch the fiber which is quite simple to do. One of the most effective stretches called cross fiber massage. To do this, you just have to turn your head to one side. Then use your finger to push into the muscle. So what you do is, place your finger on your neck where the pain is located, then cross the fiber, get the muscle, and pull it toward you. Start the massage from a higher point then go downward.
Another stretch you do is put your hand on your head then pull it to one side by 45 degree and hold the position for about 15 – 20 seconds. Repeat the process for another side. These simple techniques should be able to help you eliminate your neck and it take less than 2 minutes to do.
