This disease can spread through skin-to-skin contact. The skin of male and female genitalia which left uncovered by condoms can lead to the spread of disease.

As compare to men, women are more susceptible to this disease. The rate of male-to-female transmission of the disease is 5% higher than in the case of female-to-male transmission.
