You Should Do These 10 Beauty Habits Every Night


During the day our skin is exposed to dirt, dust, UV sun-rays, pollution and many harmful chemicals. These are one of the main causes of various skin conditions, such as acne, blackheads, skin inflammation, wrinkles, dark spots etc. It is essential to take care of our facial skin before going to bed, because the skin cells repair during the night while we are sleeping.

You can make your skin look young, shiny and radiant by doing these 10 things before bedtime:

  1. Remove Your Makeup

As we mentioned before, during the day dirt accumulates in the pores and if we don’t clean that dirt, our pores will remain clogged. That’s why it’s necessary to remove all makeup before going to bed, to let the pores breathe. If you do this, your face will be fresh and clear in the morning.

  1. Apply Hand Cream 

The skin on the hands is much thinner than the facial skin and therefore subjected to more damage. Knowing this, it’s unfortunate that women don’t take proper care of their hands. You need to moisturize them regularly in order to make the skin soft and smooth. You don’t use your hands while you’re sleeping, so there’s no excuse not to apply a hand cream before bedtime.

  1. Brush Your Teeth 

“A smile is the most beautiful curve on a woman’s body!” You may not be blessed with perfect teeth, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep them clean and healthy. Always brush and floss your teeth before going to bed in order to remove bacteria and germs from your mouth, as well as to prevent cavities.

The main purpose of toners is to remove dirt and dust from the pores, thus keeping the skin clear and soft. Using a toner is mostly recommended for people with oily skin, but it works for those with normal skin as well. There are many types of toners available, just check the label for alcohol! Toners that contain alcohol can be harsh for your skin, so make sure to avoid those.

Unfortunately, you can not stop the aging process, but you can certainly reduce the signs of it. You can make your wrinkles in the eye-area less visible by applying moisturizing eye cream before bedtime. This will also tighten the skin and help you get rid off the dark-circles under your eyes.

  1. Switch To Silk Pillowcases 

If you sleep on silk bed sheets and pillowcases, your skin will look silky too! Your hair will look smooth and healthy as well. This is because the cotton doesn’t provide the same benefits as the silk does. The silk is full of proteins and amino-acids that keep your skin and hair beautiful and healthy.

  1. Apply Petroleum Jelly On Your Feet

You may think that nobody notices your feet, but you’re wrong. I mean, let’s be honest – dry feet and cracked heels are very distasteful. It’s actually ironical – women spend a fortune on shoes, but don’t want to spend even 5$ on proper foot care. Yes, that’s how much petroleum jelly costs, and that’s all you need to keep your feet smooth and hydrated. Massage your feet with it for 5 minutes, then put on some cotton socks and go to bed. Your feet will be soft in the morning.

  1. Turn on a Humidifier

Dry air contributes to dry skin. Using a humidifier, especially in the winter, will moisturize the air and soothe your dry and cracked skin. So, don’t forget to turn it on before bedtime!

  1. Pin Up Your Hair

Before going to bed, tie your hair in a ponytail or a braid. Not only you will prevent knots and tangles in the morning, you will also keep your hair out of your face. That is important because the hair also contains dirt which can easily transfer onto the face, causing acne and pimples.

  1. Get Your Beauty Sleep

Let’s be clear – sleeping 4 hours at night is not sleeping, it’s napping. For your body to function properly, you need at least 7-8 hours of good sleep. By doing that, you’re allowing the cells to regenerate and your body to rest from the exhausting day before. Plus, the next morning you certainly won’t be needing 3 cups of coffee to wake up and tons of makeup to cover the heavy bags under your eyes. You will look fresh and energized, and well rested. So, make sure you get a good night’s sleep every night!
